Description
SOLUBLE LO is a semi-synthetic soluble cutting fluid with a low oil content, formulated as a water-extendible metal working fluid. The formulation is designed to provide excellent corrosion protection, foam control, and machining performance.
This soluble cutting fluid forms a translucent emulsion when mixed with water. As a result, it delivers stable performance during machining and helps control foam levels.
Soluble cutting fluid for machining applications
Operators can use SOLUBLE LO on steels, cast iron, yellow metals, and selected aluminium alloys. In addition, the low oil content allows the soluble cutting fluid to be used in certain grinding applications where limited lubricity is required.
The formulation includes metal passivators that support machining operations involving copper and brass alloys. For this reason, SOLUBLE LO is suitable for mixed-metal machining environments where material compatibility is important.
Recommended applications and concentrations
Typical application guidelines for this soluble cutting fluid are as follows:
Automatic machines – 4.0%
Turning – 4.0%
Milling – 5.0%
Grinding – 2.0%
Always add SOLUBLE LO to water while agitating. This step produces a clear and stable emulsion.
Technical characteristics
SOLUBLE LO is supplied as a pale amber fluid with a neutral odour. At a 5% concentration, the pH value is approximately 9.9, and the emulsion formed with tap water is translucent.
For this reason, maintaining the recommended concentration range improves machining consistency and supports productivity. In addition, correct concentration control helps extend fluid life, reduce disposal costs, and improve operator satisfaction. In addition, operators should check concentration levels regularly using a refractometer.
